The Greek Australian Cultural League of Melbourne (GACLM) is hosting its 3rd annual art exhibition, Antipodean Palette 2013. The exhibition aims to support visual arts in the community and to foster a spirit of cooperation amongst artists from various disciplines.

Showcasing the works of 12 artists in a range of media such as painting, sculpture, photography, digital prints, computer art, collage and pyrography.

Artists include Thalia Andrews, Pavlos Andronikos, Agi Argyropoulos, Costa Athanassiou, Frixos Ioannides, Andriana Karamitros, Jenny Kontogiannis Dumont, Sofronis Michaelides, Soula Mantalvanos, Vasy Petros, Mia Rappel and Tina Sideris.

The exhibition will be held at Steps Gallery, 62 Lygon St Carlton from June 25 until July 2, Mon-Fri 10-4pm, Sat/Sun 11-4pm.  Opening night is Tuesday 25th June at 6pm.

This year we are privileged to have two distinguished guests launch the event, The Hon Heidi Victoria MP, Minister for the Arts and Anna Pappas, owner of Anna Pappas Gallery and President of the Australian Commercial Galleries Association (ACGA).  A musical interlude by Pavlos Andronikos and Archie Argyropoulos will also be included.

On Saturday 29th June 6.30pm, as part of the Antipodes Events Program, George Donikian will be guest speaker at the book launch of ‘Someone Else’s War’ by author and ABC radio journalist Phil Kafkaloudis.

On Sunday 30th June at 4pm, the GACLM will hold a bi-lingual poetry recital evening by well known poets from our community.
