The Greek Australian Cultural League of Melbourne is hosting its 7th annual group art exhibition, “Antipodean Palette” 2017. The exhibition aims to support visual arts in the community by showcasing the works of practicing artists in a variety of media.

The exhibition will be held at Steps Gallery, 62 Lygon St Carlton from August 17th until August 27rd, 10am to 4 pm daily and on the weekends.

For this year, participating artists are:
Con Constantinou,
Angy Labiris,
Nicholas Katris,
Aphroditi Karalis,
Evstathia Sgardelis,
Vasy Petros,
Tracey Yannopoulos,
Thalia Andrews,
Stavros Messinis,
Katerina Prifti,
Theo Papathomas,
Stella Papas and
Masonik Art Collective.

They will exhibit a variety of work such as painting, illustration, mixed media and 3D installations, collage, digital art, and photography.

We invite you to join us at the opening ceremony which will commence at 2.00 pm on Saturday August 19. The exhibition will be launched by Fotis Kapetopoulos, Director of Kape Communications, MC for the opening ceremony will be John Georgiou General Secretary of GACL.

The 10 day exhibition will also include-

Ever wanted to have a go at life drawing? Here’s your chance
The Greek Australian Cultural League in conjunction with the Antipodean Palette exhibition at Steps Gallery, 62 Lygon St., Carlton, is presenting ‘Classical Greek Themed Life Drawing’. On Thursday 17 August at 6:30pm (for a 7:00pm start) as the Steps Gallery transforms into a drawing studio.

So immerse yourself in all things Greek -surrounded by art, you will be creating art. A tutor will be at hand for support you or you may just want to do your thing, either way allow your creativity to flow.

For just $10 (cash on the night) all materials such as drawing board, paper and charcoal will be provided. And of course it wouldn’t be Greek if there wasn’t wine and nibbles! So come along and enjoy two hours of inspiration.
