The Launch of the Antipodean Palette 2013 was a grand success last night.
Immersed in folkloristic tunes and Hellenic themes, visitors to the art exhibition were transported to other times and realms by the twelve Greek-Australian artists whose awe-inspiring works were on display.
Inaugurating the event were three primary speakers: Cathy Alexopoulos, the President of the Greek-Australian Cultural League; distinguished guest, Minister for the Arts The Hon Heidi Victoria; and gallery owner and President of the Australian Commercial Galleries Association (ACGA) Anna Pappas, all of whom were motivational and complementary in their respective speeches.
Incidentally the expected capacity of one hundred visitors was surpassed, indicating that the visual arts are well and truly alive in contemporary twenty-first century Australia.
